LESSONS

I have been teaching privately and working as a member of visiting music staff in schools for the last 12 years. Based in Brentwood, Essex, beginner to advanced tuition is available for drums, all percussion including tuned percussion and timpani. I have extensive knowledge and experience of the leading examination boards including ABRSM, Trinity and Rockschool. 

 

Previous students have gone on to conservatoire/university courses, achieve diploma certification, obtain musical scholarships and star in the West End musical, 'School of Rock'. I have also written a 2 books called The Drum Signature, which covers the majority of material found within the grade syllabuses to help students achieve their goals and benchmark progress.

I encourage all of my students to take an active role in their learning. Whether the goal is to have fun playing to music you like, or climb the grade ladder, I will tailor the lessons to meet your individual goals and learning style.

DRUMMING IN THEATRE LESSONS AND WORKSHOPS

This is an increasingly popular specialism that I have been delighted to give one to one lessons and workshops on. These sessions are aimed at intermediate to advanced level players and are usually delivered in 90 - 120 minute sessions. Students are able to study the skills required for playing in the West End and work with conductor footage and show recordings from some of the biggest shows. I have delivered this session both in one to one settings and as a workshop for 30-40 drummers. If this is of particular interest, please do get in touch.
